Various print designs and proposals

Slater Hogg and Howison — Brochure to promote property development
This was to promote an exclusive development just on the corner of Blythswood Square, comprising of duplex apartments. The name and flock style outer cover alludes to the previous life of the building as one townhouse with servants quarters. The outer cover is screen printed black onto black Plike substrate from GF Smith.

Buredi — Invite for property development launch
The concept of this invite was to attract attention by stating key facts about the development in a simple graphic way. In order to read the message you need to hold the poster up to the light.

Lorimer Homes — Brochure to promote property development
This was a straightforward property brochure for a development in the West End of Glasgow, when I went to visit the site I noticed it was near the top of a tree lined hill. Back in the studio, I was messing about with a rough sketch and ended up using it for the final design.

Glasgow School of Art — Summer school poster / programme
The design is based on the baggage tags attached at airports. The idea was to suggest summer, when most people are likely to fly, and also the idea of going on a journey of discovery, by completing one of the courses.

Bridge of Weir Leather — Brochure concept
Leather is an inherently environmentally friendly product, and leather manufacturing one of the earliest recycling industries. Bridge of Weir also produce their leather in an environmentally responsible manner and have ISO 14001 accreditation for their environmental management.
I used this as a theme for this brochure which influenced the title and the production spec.

As a lot of their leather ends up in luxury cars, yachts and even aeroplanes I decided to use lots of details such as double stitching, a foil blocked leather label and embossing / debossing. All stock proposed was part of a 100% recycled range sourced from Fenner Paper. — Direct mail, designed to promote secure waste disposal service
The idea behind these mailers was to play on the possibility of confidential documents falling into the wrong hands. To some extent this can actually happen, when the documents are securely destroyed they are then recycled and end up being part of other paper and card products in the future.

Glasgow Jazz Festival — 2005 design concepts
Ths first option ws based on the idea of "jazzing up" Glasgow, by using illustrations of famous landmarks and adding elements representative of musical instruments used in jazz and alluding to different eras of jazz and improvisation.

The second option was more a straightforward graphic approach with a muted palette, but still with a hint of improvisation and looseness.

Hub — New business mailer, arts and culture sector
This mailer featured abstract imagery taken inside our office and then featured various peoples descriptions of what it made them think of. This was designed to show how people interpret images and messages differently.
